Alyssa Ahinger
Alyssa graduated from Chapman University in 2023 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Disability Studies. She received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology in 2025 from The Chicago School and is currently working towards her doctorate of Psychology (PsyD). She is under the supervision of Brianna Young, M.A., LMFT 125597, and Dr. Albert Knapp, PsyD, BCBA-D, RPT-S, Clinical Psychologist (PSY 25873). Alyssa provides therapy and psychological testing at AKA and utilizes a warm and empathetic approach alongside CBT, DBT, and play therapy methods to assist individuals in developing coping skills and meeting collaboratively set goals. Above all else, she is passionate about understanding and elevating the voices, experiences, and livelihoods of individuals struggling with various concerns. She has previously worked in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings and has notable experience in therapeutic intervention and diagnostic testing for ASD, ADHD, and mental health disorders. In her free time outside of work and school, Alyssa enjoys playing video games, collecting library cards, and playing TTRPGs with her friends. She is very excited to be back at AKA this year!
